Wow really Nice Videos! Yeah Nick if you think about it making the Guitar sound different is a big part of what its all about^^, youre right other Instruments can be such a good way to think differently and effects are also(just because you dont play them with your fingers doesnt change the fact that its sounding different), but like I said its very hard to copy a chopin feel on our beloved instrument :D
Yeah I love chopin too, I think youre totally right he used so much intresting chords, yet often simple progressions which I(we) as a rock Guitarist can apply well to my playing, only issue is the transcribing from piano to guitar without making a backing track (or 8 finger tapping on a 7+String) Guitar is very difficult, indeed the feel is so hard to copy on an electric guitar
My Laptop was crashed quite a while just recorded this video, Great work ursin, I checked out the scalpel sweeps but did it the casual way in this recording, I think when I practice those they will be much cleaner in about 2 weeks
Dude nice picking speed, but you really really must work on your bendings, further Im a bit dissapointed that its not a cover of the song but only a picking excerpt from it I was really looking forward to hear you play music but keep going man you know " I can't never stop working hard"
I recorded a video containing ursins tapping figures(the full roll was new to me), and variations with double tab(randy rhoads style variation) and 2 fingers on the right hand( sloppy style variation^^) i fucked up a lot of times in this haha
mhm looks fast unfortunatly one couldn't hear you play, simple question why does matter so much to you if its sarod, i mean if you really can go at 270bpm 16th notes, i would just experiment with the best sound out of the picking because your fast enough anyway( just my opinion maybe you want to make music only at much higher speeds than this)
Hi I wondered what your approach to mental practice is like( I mean Practising just in your head while your at work or something and can't do the real thing), Just Songs or Scale Patterns,Intervals? Would be nice to get some insight in other peoples views on it
Yeah thanks man I will work on that, always played this way for the more aggresive sound, but in fast picking it seems that its holding me back, I noticed that I sometimes do the circle motion it seem good for changing strings. Keep up the great work here on Pebbers Forum and of course anywhere else!
mhm it was more visible when i had the thumb right on the pick, but I changed it because i cramped up too much plus I now play JazzIIIs. Anyway heres a video that shows it better I hope ( or does not show it if i fucked it up or something) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhyFTdC6gcY&feature=youtu.be
Thanks for the replies ! tried it on aother guitar and it seems not to be the set up.(even the 009 Strings on the fender get a lot of vibration) I experimented a little and it like Freakh said is the Pick touching the Vibrating String, The hint that my Grip is too hard was also good because it was the first time I noticed it thanks for that. The only point left is a solution i mean I should not make the movement bigger but at the same time somehow avoid the touch of the pick
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzzujKnPfdE&feature=youtu.be Unfortunatly its not that loud, at the end of the Video I try my attempt of a solution picking more from "above" the string than before. If it's really not loud enough I'll do another one thanks for help really great Forum here !
Hi I hope you guys could help me out. When I Sarod Pick especially with Scalpel combined my Pick(or Thumb) always causes annoying noise at high speeds, of course It's hard to Help without seeing it if none of you got the same Problem I'll just post a video.
Hi I wanted to ask how you folks recognize compound intervalls, and split them. Do you prefer singing with the guitar(I know it has to be good it's on the routine:) or do you also use "ear training software?
Update on my Sarod... I hope one can see the technique because my arm isn't fully in it, my speed has increased quite a bit as I worked on Scalpel but when it gets to my speed limit I just Sarod I guess http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_h1Dm4486oQ
Ok so it's too much wrist movement for sarod? I use Scalpel for Slower stuff now a lot of times I noticed that my timings with Scalpel at Slow speeds are sometimes off after a while
