Well, it's not quite as bad as the adverts I've seen for products that say 'Become a guitar God in 15 minutes'. I think that's about as bad as it gets!
Jimmy Page as an early teen and was taught the little fast solo in Whole Lotta Love. But with no effects it didn't sound good and I don't think it was correct note given by my teacher to start with.
I play my guitar with neck high up to my shoulder, the next is almost perpendicular to the ground. As much as I'd like to play like Slash with my guitar slung down at my ankles I just can't do it. But the guitar always want to rotate to neck down. I have a cheap strap so wondering is there a better non-slip one that gets better traction on my should and clothing? Or is there a guitar harness that keeps the guitar firmly in position and maybe distributes weight more evenly around your torso?
Well, yesterday my bluetooth headset broke. They were a good set, Plantronics. So I'm in the market for another one but for use with my electric I guess I need to forget the Bluetooth and use a cord. I already have my foot stuck to my Line 6 so I can't go far. Any recommendations on a good headphone set to use with my stomp box?
Not using updated driver? I'm not running it through a computer. So there is software on the line 6 that has to be updated? Bummer. I'm sure I've seen Paul Gilbert play using wireless headphones, presumably Bluetooth. You wouldn't think he'd play using that if there was a delay. I don't have an amp yet but I'll plug the headphones in directly to rule out the Bluetooth dongle.

I have a Line 6 500HD. I just got it to work today after having it a couple of months. Yes, Newby here. My question: I have my guitar plugged into the Line 6 but I not using an amp. I am using headphones but the single is coming through a Bluetooth dongle. When I pluck the strings there is delay of a second or more before I hear it through the headphones. Is it this a Bluetooth delay or could there be a delay from an effect in the Line 6? How much delay can one expect from plucking the strings to hearing the sound in general if using an amp?
I am an elementary school teacher but have helped school guitar club for Graces 3-5. My opinion: My students were immediately taught chords with small 6-strings and also reading staff music. I think that's a mistake. It takes weeks for them to hold a simple chord that sounds terrible and there's nothing they can do with it. I think they should be first taught tab and simple single note songs: anything from Mary Had A Little Lamb to the melody of songs they like to listen to be it Justin Bieber or Led Zeppelin. They need to enjoy it and play simple songs right away or it will be a chore and they will drop it. Then get into reading staff sheet music, understanding time, chords, scales gently. I guess you could also make games early on for them to do trills, repetitive speed exercises. They might like that.
Anyone know any good songs names that are for just 1-acoustic guitar, no other instruments or vocals? Probably finger picking, not too too difficult? Here are ones I have been trying to learn if anyone wants to try I have tab and can email.
I am a school teacher. What is the best way to connect my electric or miked accoustic to my pc and play through the pc speaker system. The speakers have the third woofer speaker, an okay speaker set-up for a desktop computer.
I'm living in the middle of nowhere in Indonesia. Looking at electric guitars and stompboxes. The kind of setup I want is electric guitar with good selection of effects pedals on the floor but then listening through a headset to not upset neighbours. Working on getting the guitar for for pedals: Visited a local shop yesterday and they have: 1. Line 6 M9 for $470 2. Line 6 M16 for $610 3. Line 6 HD500 for $545
What do people think? Or are there better machines and prices on the net?
I'm relatively new to acoustic and especially electric. I'm told I'm looking for a 'stomp-box' but hopefully it could be used for electric AND acoustic fit with a pickup. And I hear there may be a good iPhone app to use to plug your guitar into then use head phones and not make the neighbors crazy. But I want to use a 'stomp-box' with headphones and not annoy the neighbors. I've moved to Indonesia and want to play guitar after work using headphones as opposed to an amp. I'm in a kind of boring city and need advice on buying an electric guitar and more importantly electronic accessories that I can come home to and play with before I drink myself into oblivion. Please help. :)
I think it's buzzing enough, I think it's older than the guy says. I'm going to look around a bit more first but think I'm going to pass. Thanks for the info.
I'm actually quite a big guy, 6'5". I assume the full size dreadnaught has a better, more full, and louder sound. The one I have now I don't think could be full. It looks smaller. I bought it in 1981 when I was a teenager. The Cort I am looking at is dreadnaught, probably not full size. It has a pickup already and little equalizer. The problem: there is buzzing on strings 4, 5, 6. It is 2 years old and he wants about $200. The fretboard paint is worn it some places, must have been played a lot. Also, on strings 1 and 2 around the 15 or high up frets it almost sounds like there is reverb when I play them and it isn't even plugged in!
