I class myself as a beginner even though I bought my current guitar over 3 years ago. It's an Ibanez AR300AM and I tried to learn to play it by buying a few books but I never got going. About two years ago I got started with scales and although I know 5 scale positions my playing of scales has hardly progressed at all and after watching Pebber's excellent free videos I now know that my fretting finger strength and coordination is abysmal and will never improve unless I undertake some serious and committed trills, ladders and spiders practice. I have set a goal to not even think about scales until I have sufficiently improved my finger strength and can fret without having my fingers all over the place. I see no point in doing anything unless it's done correctly. I hope to post some videos of my progress to give other beginners some guide as to what can be achieved with practice and effort, the only way to guarantee improvement.

One end connects to the cable from the guitar and the other end plugs into the USB port on the Mac.
