However many years you have been playing and whatever level you are at,
we all experience that feeling. I have to practice a lot just to not feel klunky
especially in the morning.

Each and every day man the energy expenditure that is necessary to maintain guitar playing ability is no different than that which is nessarily for the preservation of life...its like have a daily metabolism that calls for you to eat and consume at least 8 servings of trill, 7 of picking, ect. This phenomenon only seems to become more intense and difficult to maintain as one gets closer to becoming a little ingwie.

It is the same for all guitar players. All players have their daily warm ups. They are critical so you don't give yourself hand injuries. That Klunky feeling Pebber mentioned is horrible but after an hour or two it's pretty much gone.
