hello I have been practicing scales and was wondering if learning the 14 position system as a beginner is fine even though most people suggest the 5 position scale system? also any tips on memorizing them would be great... example ..1 scale pattern per week or two per week etc?thanks

5 position is good starter even if just to learn the Caged positions.
also wouldn't put too much of a time limit on things, when you know you know it then move on,

thanks for the reply ,that makes total sense..I am in no real hurry to learn a certain thing ei. scales , chords etc.. so no time limit is set because I know things take time and I would rather not rush things and learn properly and then move on from there as you mentioned so again thanks..

Kung Fu Analogy:
5 Pos System = white belt
7 Pos Sytem = yellow belt
12 Pos system = green belt
14 Pos Sytem = brown belt
Scaletone System = Black belt and beyond.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Analogy:

5 Pos system - white belt
7 Pos Sustem - Blue Belt
12 Pos sytem - Purple Belt
14 Pos System - Brown Belt
Scaletone System - Black belt and beyond.

Allways had a vision of us all sitting in a dojo
With sensei Brown at the front
meditating and picking in unison for hours at a time..

Does that mean i can tell people i'm a brown belt . cmon

wouldn't that be awesome ? If I were bill gates I would make that happen!
An army would be created and then a war would occur between Brownians and the Internet Trolls.
Even though the Brownians would be outnumbered 10,000 to 1.... they would be victorious. I imagine it like a Jedi vs a droid.
