Great scalpel form, all the way up.

Looks like you're having a little trouble feeling the 6's. They are tough. For me I find it easier to focus on and count the downstrokes while being sure I also pick the upstrokes.

So in my head I count the 1-2-3 while playing down-up-down-up-down-up, like this:

I also find this helps me with:
5's (I count them like a heartbeat 1u1ud 1d1du 1u1ud 1d1du)
7's (1u1u1ud 1d1d1du 1u1u1ud 1d1d1du)
8's (1u2u3u4u 1u2u3u4u 1u2u3u4u 1u2u3u4u)

This helps the off-beats become a bit more automatic for me.

Yeah, I was just emailing GuitarStyles88 back and forth, and he mentioned this being a Vimeo video, as well, and that he can still view it, too. I jumped right back on here, but I still cannot view this video for some reason.

I wonder what I'm doing wrong. Can anyone assist?

I took a quick look, and it could be hardware acceleration in your browser. Try disabling hardware acceleration in your settings.

A quicker answer might be to use a different browser, but I see threads of people having the same problems with Vimeo on both Chrome and Firefox; hardware acceleration was the culprit in both cases.

That looks perfect! People need to realize that we are taking an approach similar to how Indian musicians learn to master the sitar or sarod - basics and slow speeds for many month before realizing that the technique has become part of you.
I did this exercise for a whole year straight at this speed an I ALWAYS keep coming back to it every time I start a practice routine again. Keep up the great work!

So I tried disabling the hardware acceleration, but it did not work. It turns out that it was my "No Script" that was blocking Vimeo!

Needless to say, I was finally able to view this, and this is a FANTASTIC video. I am so glad I was able to see this! It took me a solid 6 months of practice before I was comfortable enough with this technique in order to use it live on stage with my band at the time.

Long story short, I am always working on Sarod (and Scalpel), too. I work at it slowly, because I find it is more difficult to practice these techniques at lower tempos. However, I also find that it yields better results (more accuracy, for example).
