I am getting a handle on scalpel picking, using the thumb and finger motion to slice across the strings. At higher speeds, this slicing back and forth seems to want to morph into a tiny circle. Does anyone else do this? It feels natural to me to have this happen but I am interested in what others do? Thanks in advance for any replies and thank to Pebber for making this stuff available.

That seems natural to me; moving around a curve is naturally faster that stopping and reversing direction. I think I do the same thing but I'd need to examine to be certain.

I'm interested to see what others say.
