  • Poll : Pinky Strengthening device?DateFri Nov 19, 2010 11:52 pm

    The thing that really bugs me is the power and stamina to the detriment of agility (fluidity?) when using grips. Is that really so?

    I don't use them but think of trying, hence my poll lol.

    Hello,

    I have seen the trills review and trills videos of pebber brown and I just want to ask to all of you; do you think that power grips, fingers strengthening devices are helpful? Have you used one of those? Have you thought using them?

    I know that the best way to make your fingers (pinky here obviously) stronger is to play and practice guitar. Still, there are some times when you don't have your guitar around (and I have seen the pinky exercice of pebber brown)...

    Just a quick poll; pros and cons, no flamming please, just a valid and solid opinion. :)

    Instead of looping the video in your browser, you just have to copy it in your hard disk.

    You have addons with Mozila Firefox to download video on youtube and in Internet Explorer, once the video is downloaded, it is in the Internet Temporary Files (in the internet option - history).

    Then you play with your video player again and again, it is very handy (you can, with some programw, put the video in slow motion when it gets tough ;)).

    I wasn't saying which one is better than the other, I was just asking out of curiosity :).

    But thank you uderoche for your reply, as I thought, as long as you stay in the scale, you can do whatever you want.

    Hello everyone,

    I couldn't find a thread about the G Major 7 Position (3 NPS) so I take this thread to ask a question;
    In the book "Guitar Grimoire" by Adam Kadmon (thanks to pebber brown for mentionning this book in his videos), on page 21, there are the 7 positions of the G Major. However, the first position (for pebber brown as in his G_Major_7_Position_LARGE.pdf) or the seventh (for Adam Kadmon) is slightly different for the B and the lower E strings. There are 3 wholesteps for Adam Kadmon's (3rd-5th-7th frets on both B and E like the pattern for the 4th position in pebber brown's) and 1 wholestep and a halfstep for pebber brown's (3rd-5th for B and 2nd-3rd-5th frets on lower E).

    Could someone explain me this subtlety because for the other positions they both match (of course ^^)?

    Thank you.

    Ps: sorry if you can't clearly see what I am talking about, my english is not perfect :)

    NB: thank you very much pebber for your videos, it is very helpful.
