Description I am one of those PB describes so eloquently in the first video...I have played guitar on and off for 40 years and never realized the difference between practicing and noodling... I really love the instrument but never met anyone who had an education and could explain things... you know...to make it right. Through the years I had to self teach and unfortunately had to revamp my technique many times and as I follow PB's videos seem to have to do this again. Got tired of playing 12 bar Blues in the nearby juke joint for no money and a lot of trouble going home late and sat down and listened to the 80's and 90's music and got floored by Van Halen ,Satch, Malsteem...not understanding why they were so good and unique. My playing sucked...I knew it but could not figure out why 8-10 hrs of guitar/day would not take me there...? My hands were not cooperating and my fingers landed on unwanted notes and my phrasing had no articulation nor did I had any idea how to build a solo in the first place. So there it is in a nutshell...I wanted to be a rock star ...moved to the States and ended up a cook to support myself... But thanks to PB I DO know now what I have been missing and I am committed to get a lot better... Actually, I have spent some time with single string picking, ladder and spider exercises and within a week things have greatly improved already. I still have a lot to do but by next year things will rock a lot more my way I am sure. Thank you for all the hard work and support. Latest activities Tags |
