  • Guitar movement while standing up + hello !DateTue Aug 30, 2016 12:04 pm

    Hey everyone,

Im the new guy. Picked up guitar february this year and soon discovered pebbers stuff - which i am using for months now. Recently signed up for the basic course. I am 50 years old and live in Switzerland. Started out on acoustic for the first 2 months and then bought a Les Paul which is much much easier on my hands, and i play it ever since.

When i practice i am standig up always, never sit. This brings me to the topic. The movement of the neck while playing. Especially when i play the first 2 strings using the classic technique, the palm of the hand doesn't touch the fingerboard and when i move up and down the neck it can move back and forth and also down to an unconfortable position from where i have to make an effort to pull it up again. Playing shirtless solves the problem quite a bit because the guitar sticks to the belly but with a shirt everything moves.

What do you guys do to combat this problem?
